  • THE GLORY OF KINGS - A proposal for why God will always be the best explanation for the existence of the universe.

  • ENOCH WALKED WITH GOD - Enoch had a beautiful soul and walked with God in many ways. This book invites children to imagine what some of those ways might have been while presenting them with a wonderful model for their own lives.

I Samuel 9

Chapter 9

v. 1:  It is interesting that Saul is from Gibeah, the scene of the last (and most horrible) story in the book of Judges.

v. 6:  Saul does not seem to have heard of Samuel before this, which seems unusual considering Samuel’s great age and statements such as 3:20 (made in Samuel’s youth).  Saul seems to be a young man himself here, though certainly old enough to have heard of Samuel.  Consider too the fact that Gibeah (Saul’s home) and Ramah (Samuel’s) couldn’t have been much more than five or ten miles apart. I wonder if Saul’s ignorance is meant to reflect on his character somehow.
